Music Distribution – Who Should You Pick?

I’m going to cut out all of the fluff so you can make a decision without all the noise.

I’ve been working within music for just over a decade. I’ve worked as an artist with millions of streams, and with labels reaching nearly a billion streams world-wide.

There’s loads of distribution companies to choose from, all offering different things, at different prices.

MANY are rather shady in the way that they operate, and MANY offer false promises and fail to deliver on the most basic things; getting your music in stores with zero fuss.

IMPORTANT – Something that thousands of musicians seem to miss, and it’s NEVER spoken about, but…

There’s a bunch of distribution companies that don’t use their own direct deals with DSPs and say that you’ll receive 100% of your royalties. Key thing to mention that they deliberately do their best to hide: You receive 100% of what THEY receive, after the platform and/or technology uses takes their cut.

Yeah, it’s super sketchy.

IMPORTANT – Unless you’re a major artist, do not go with a distribution company based upon music promotion. Through years of experience, you’ll rarely notice anything in regards to marketing of your music through distribution companies. Don’t let these marketing techniques sway your decision.
